2024 Bajaj Chetak Premium with TFT screen teased ahead of launch on January 5, 2024

Bajaj Chetak 2024

On January 5, Bajaj Auto is scheduled to unveil the 2024 Chetak Premium. The electric scooter is anticipated to have significant modifications to its feature list and mechanicals with the most recent version, as the company has hinted about the model and its enhancements on social media. With a larger battery, a new TFT screen, and a faster peak speed, the redesigned Bajaj Chetak Premium will stand apart from the entry-level Urban trim.

The LCD console that was formerly offered on the e-scooter will be replaced by a new 7-inch TFT screen on the 2024 Bajaj Chetak Premium. The Urbane variation will continue to provide the round LCD unit, but the new dashboard will give the Premium trim extra functionality.

Anticipated features of the new TFT screen include Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation powered by an app, call, SMS, and audio alerts, remote immobilization, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). Additionally, it is anticipated that the e-scooter’s under-seat storage will increase from 18 to 21 litres.

The leaked paper also claimed that a larger 3.2 kWh battery pack, with a stated range of 126 km (IDC) on a single charge, will be included in the 2024 Bajaj Chetak Premium. Compared to the Urbane model, which has a 2.9 kWh battery with a range of 108 km, this is a significant gain. The larger battery pack is also likely to result in a longer charging time; presently, a normal charger can charge a battery from 0% to 100% in 4 hours. It is anticipated that the maximum speed will increase from 63 kmph to 73 kmph.

It is anticipated that the redesigned Bajaj Chetak will have the same aesthetic. Even though the model is now four years old, it still ages gracefully and has a good fit and finish. It has a pleasant appearance. We also anticipate the carryover of the alloy wheels, sequential LED turn indicators, enlarged single seats, apron storage, and illuminated switchgear.

Bajaj Auto was best known for its two-wheeled scooter, the Bajaj Chetak before it gained popularity for its contemporary line of motorbikes. The massive Pune-based two-wheeler company had stopped producing scooters a few years ago. Since then, it has been developing a new line of electric scooters and has now released the Chetak in an electric version.

As the name implies, the scooter pays homage to its heritage by incorporating modern and new design elements from the classic Chetak. Its sheet metal body panels give it a luxurious feel, and its modern features—LED lighting, turn signals with sequential blinking akin to those found on high-end cars, and smooth, flowing lines—complete the picture.

The changes will provide Bajaj with a stronger competitive edge when marketing the Chetak against competitors such as the Ola S1 Pro, Ather 450X, Simple One, and others. Prices are anticipated to start at about ₹1.35 lakh (ex-showroom), with the Tec-pac trim with more unlocked features likely to carry a premium charge from the manufacturer. Later this week, more information about the new Chetak will be accessible. Thus, be sure to check this area often for updates.

Bajaj Chetak price for its variant – Chetak Premium is estimated at Rs. 1,26,911. The price for the other variants – Chetak Urbane Standard [2024], Chetak Urbane TecPac [2024]
